Caramelized Delicata Squash

This yummy caramelized delicata squash recipe is delicious and has an almost butterscotch type of flavor. It's so easy to prepare too!

 6 1/2 to 7 inch size delicata squash
 3 tbsp melted coconut oil
 ½ tsp sea salt
 a couple of sprinkles of black pepper
 1 tablespoon maple syrup
Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Take the delicata squash, wash and dry the outside of the squash.

Slice the squash into rounds.

Remove the seeds from the inside of the round pieces.

Spread one tablespoon of melted coconut oil on a baking sheet and spread it around. Place the delicate squash pieces on the pan and sprinkle the rest of the coconut oil on squash adding the sea salt, shakes of pepper and the maple syrup. Mix the squash all around to coat all the squash pieces.

Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 25 minutes flipping over half way through baking.

When finished baking the slices will be golden and nicely caramelized. Any leftovers store in a airtight container for up to 4 to 5 days.
